Information: This hand colored engraving is from a set published in London in the 1860s by Fullarton and Company of London and Edinburgh. They were made to educate the general population in natural history. The Victorians were very interested in natural history and indeed many pursued it as hobby, for example collecting and studying butterflies, beetles and wild flowers. Date: This is an original antique print dates ranging from the 1860s. Print method: Steel plate engraving with original, hand painted coloring. Size: Approximately 10 by 6½ inches (25 by 16cm) Condition: Very good condition. The paper is creamy white and the hand coloring is well done and uses a beautiful range of colors. There a few faint specks of foxing on some of the prints.
